Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment

Maharishi® School is located on the campus of Maharishi University of Management and is legally a division of the University. But by resolution of the University’s Board of Trustees, the School is governed by its own Board of Directors. The Maharishi School Council, chaired by the Head of School, is responsible for the School’s daily administration. The Academic Council addresses matters involving curriculum and instruction.

The Board of Directors are responsible for:

  • The Schools’ statement of philosophy.
  • Policies for the governance of the School.
  • Financial management.
  • Evaluating the administration, operation, and educational programs.
  • Prioritizing and leading fund raising.
  • Hiring and evaluating the School Head.
  • Providing channels of communication with parents and others regarding broad policies of the School.
  • Maintaining a current policy manual comprised of all School Board decisions.

Members of 2012-13 Board of Directors are:

  • Bob Daniels, Chair: Trustee Maharishi University of Management; Vice President, Maharishi Foundation, USA.
  • Dr. Bevan Morris, Chair Emeritus:Prime Minister, Global Country of World Peace; President, Maharishi University of Management; Chair Emeritus, Board of Trustees; President, Maharishi Foundation, USA; President, Global Country of World Peace, USA.
  • Dr. Christopher Jones, Vice Chair: Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Professor of Education, Education Department Chair, Maharishi University of Management.
  • Dr. Ashley Deans: Executive Director of Maharishi School and Global Ambassador for Consciousness-Based Education
  • Jim Davis: Senior Vice-President, Chappell Studio and Marathon Foto.
  • Marc Freeman: President, Marc Freeman & Associates, Negotiating and Renegotiating Consulting
  • Dr. Bill Goldstein: Legal Counsel, Maharishi University of Management
  • Shelley Gratzon: Artist, educator, homemaker. Doctorate, Maharishi European Research University.
  • Dr. John Hagelin: Director, Institute of Science, Technology, and Public Policy; Professor of Physics, Maharishi University of Management; International Director, Global Union of Scientists for Peace; President, United States Peace Government; Minister of Science and Technology, Global Country of World Peace; Director, Board of Advisors of the David Lynch Foundation; quantum physicist, educator, public policy expert.
  • Heather Hartnett: Communications Director, David Lynch Foundation Television. Maharishi School (2001) and Maharishi University of Management (2005) alumnus.
  • Richard Hobbs: Chairman, Darwin Technology International, Ltd.; Director of Marketing, Maharishi Vedic Education and Development Corporation.
  • Peter Huggins: President, Phoenix Energy, Inc.
  • Camille Jorgensen: President and Co-Owner, Purely Organic Ltd.
  • Lucie Martlin: Maharishi School graduate, Class of 1993; MUM graduate, Class of 1998 with Bachelor of Arts in Maharishi Ayur-Veda. Certified Teacher of the Transcendental Meditation program.
  • Janet Nichols: Businesswoman.
  • Dr. Craig Pearson: Executive Vice-President, Maharishi University of Management
  • Noah Siemsen: CEO and Senior Consultant, Siemsen Consulting Inc. Maharishi School (1995) and Maharishi University of Management (1999) alumnus.
  • Emmanuel Titus: Financial Manager, private wealth management firm; Certified Management Accountant; Maharishi University of Management MBA.
  • Susan Tracy: Corporate Secretary, Maharishi University of Management. Doctorate, Maharishi European Research University.
  • Sankari Wegman: Masters degree in Physiology from Maharishi University of Management,working on dissertation in Physiology with a focus on Maharishi Ayur Veda. Health Consultant at The Raj.
  • Ted Wallace: Senior Business Analyst at Cambridge Investment Research, Masters in Computer Science and Neuroscience from Maharishi University of
    Management 1992, 1996. Graduate of Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment, Class of 1986.
     

School Head

The School Head, Dr. Richard Beall, has overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the school. His duties include:

  • Leadership of the academic program, administrative policies, and professional development of faculty and staff
  • Represent the school to all constituencies
  • Oversee accreditation, recruiting, and fund-raising
  • Maintain all legal requirements and fiscal standards
  • Chair the School Council

School Council

The day-to-day functioning of the school is administered by the School Council. Its members include:

  • Terry Weiss. Personnel Director

Academic Council

Each year the School Council appoints an Academic Council to oversee the educational program of the school. The Academic Council includes representatives of each segment of the school:
