Greetings from Dubai, United Arab Emirates!
We arrived yesterday after a productive and immensely enjoyable trip to India. There we visited three large, highly successful Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools in Chennai and Hosur. We met with the students and staff in waves, usually 400-800 in each one-hour session, totaling over 5000 students. We connected with them as a sister Maharishi School and to promote the idea of coming to study at our school in the US.
The atmosphere at all three schools was impressive and inspiring. They have beautiful, orderly, well-equipped facilities, are efficiently managed, and, most importantly, their students are highly motivated, respectful, and happy. Like our own students, they practice TM and yoga twice each day, and they demonstrate a deep appreciation for our mutual Founder, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and our tradition of knowledge.
Our International Admissions Director for India, Priya Chhalliyil, has done a magnificent job researching and scheduling contacts, and following up with prospective parents’ inquiries. We are optimistic that this initiative in India will bring us some outstanding new students in the coming school year.
Today we met with educational recruiters here in Dubai. They commented on how valuable and unique our approach to education is, and offered to assist us in any way possible.
Our delegation includes Marc Freeman (Chair of our Board of Directors’ Expansion Committee, international businessman, and parent of three MSAE alumni) and Andrea Beall (TM Teacher and former school administrator). We have more meetings and a school fair this week before the long trip home on Thursday.
We look forward to sharing more of the details with you on our return.
All the best,
