It’s been travel season for me, and I’m halfway through a four-part tour.
From October 15-28, I traveled to China to visit the parents of our current students, to recruit students for next year, and to meet with schools, agencies, and the local TM teachers. I was joined by our International Student Advisor Linlin Shi and Board member and past parent Marc Freeman.
We met Maharishi School parents in Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Beijing, some of whom traveled almost 1000 miles to be there. They were as generous as our parents here, providing hotel accommodations, transportation, and many delicious meals.
The tour’s second stop was Indianapolis, where 23 of our faculty and staff attended the annual conference of the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS), along with 1100 other educators. We attended stimulating, inspiring workshops on a variety of topics, gaining learning which we will bring back to our Maharishi School classrooms and offices.
On Sunday morning I traveled to Mexico--Missouri--to serve on the ISACS Visiting Team for the accreditation of the Missouri Military Academy.
And finally on Thursday, I'll join ten of our students at the St. Louis Middle School Student Diversity Leadership Conference, organized by Randolph Carter, a new member of our Board of Directors.
I hope you enjoy these glimpses from the past couple weeks. I'll be happy to return to School on Friday!
