Maharishi School Girls Tennis Off to a Bumpy Start

In their first match of the season the Maharishi School girls tennis team lost 9-0 to an experienced West Burlington/Notre Dame team. Playing at home on the Punj Tennis Center courts the Pioneers had to contend with both steady play from their opponents and windy conditions. Four of the Pioneer players played their first competitive match as new members of the team. "The girls started their singles matches slowly, but became more competitive during the second set." Noted Coach DeArmond Briggs. "More match experience will help them improve their performance as the season progresses."
