Stickels, Pioneers Roll to Titles

From the Fairfield Ledger, April 29 -- On a near-perfect day for tennis Saturday, sophomore Sam Stickels played close to perfection and anchored Maharishi School to a first-place finish at his home Pioneer Invitational in Fairfield.

Keokuk finished runner-up with 139 and Maharishi School’s JV squad was third with 125 games won.

Also for the Pioneers, freshman Chandre Morales racked up another 50 game wins at No. 2 singles to finish atop his field, and junior Solaris Nite and senior Raphael Gelfand came in second at No. 1 doubles with 38 points.
