Summer Strings at Maharishi School

It’s time to think about learning how to play a stringed instrument…

…or continuing studies if you have already taken classes this year!

Summer Strings will be offered for any Maharishi School student who will be in the 2nd grade (2013-2014 school year), or older. If you have a friend or relative that would like to join us for the summer, we would be glad to have them join us!

At this time we will only be able to offer violin, viola, or cello lessons. Hopefully next year we will be able to start beginning band instruments as well!

Classes offered will be at the following times:

Beginning Classes will be Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10am until 10:40 am, beginning June 17th and ending July 19th. Cost for the 15 classes will be $75 total for the summer.

Students will need to get beginning instruments through West Music in Iowa City or Ottumwa. Our contact person is Debbie Yarrow (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)) and the website for West Music is http://www.westmusic.com/

Advanced Lessons for students who have already participated in our beginning strings program, or who have taken lessons already, will be Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning June 18th and ending July 18th. Classes will be from 10am – 10:45am, and the cost for all 10 lessons will be $50 total for the summer.

Classes will be in the Maharishi School Music Room, 2nd floor of the Lower School, in the far northeast corner.

Sign up will be through email: please email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) with your interest and questions.

Looking forward to a wonderful summer filled with music!

Sincerely,
Syndy Casey
