Des Moines - Pearl Sawhney of Maharishi School was selected to attend the Global Youth institute hosted by the World Food Prize Foundation held October 15-18 in Des Moines. Sky Nite named National Merit Commended Scholar

Maharishi School senior Sky Nite, son of Randy and Noel Nite, has been named a commended student in the 2011 National Merit Scholarship Program. A letter of commendation from the national Merit Scholarship Corporation wil be presented to Nite. About five percent of students who take the PSAT/NMSQT® tests receive Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise. Coco Clark named National Merit Semifinalist

Maharishi School senior Colette “Coco” Clark, daughter of Fran Clark and the late Henry Ogden Clark, was named a semifinalist in the 2011 National Merit Scholarship Program. In addition to displaying academic excellence, Coco is a volunteer coordinator for Fairfield Habitat for Humanity, and an intern for Iowa State Senator Becky Schmitz. Lila Cutter, Maharishi School Junior, has won first place, high school category, in the Iowa Poetry Association contest.
