Sports and physical education are a very important aspect of our educational program. Regular physical activity and instruction are fundamental to physical and mental health.
All students participate daily in a competitive sport and physical education. Our programs are designed to provide physical conditioning, sports skills, teamwork skills, and sportsmanship skills.
In Iowa seventh and eighth graders are part of the Junior High State Sports Program. The boys compete in soccer, basketball, tennis, golf, and track. The girls compete in volleyball, basketball, tennis, track, and golf. See Sports Schedule.
Ninth graders participate in the sports of the Upper School program. See Athletics Program.
At different times of the year when the boys and girls are not in the competitive sports, they participate in a wide range of sports activities, including swimming, dancing (girls), dodge ball, kick ball, touch football, and handball.
