Upper School

"Seek the Highest First"

Our Upper School program is designed to give your student a solid foundation in the traditional secondary school subjects and to prepare him/her for success in all areas of life. Your student will begin and end the school day with the practice of the Transcendental Meditation® program. A nourishing, supportive environment further encourages your student's holistic development. Our faculty takes responsibility for helping your child grow into a well-rounded, confident, and respectful adult. Our mission is to train the future leaders of the world in all fields.

Upper School Curriculum

The Upper School curriculum includes the traditional core subjects that are taught at most college preparatory schools: Math, Science, English, and Social Studies. In addition to Spanish, Sanskrit, an ancient language, are offered for foreign language. Sanskrit is a phonetic language so it is easy to pronounce and read, and has been found to increase brain wave coherence. The students also learn the basics of Sanskrit grammar.

A variety of other courses—including speech, art, music, Gandharva Veda music, writing, senior thesis, photography, Destination Imagination, Science Fair, and History Fair—round out the curriculum. Our goal is to expose the students to a wide selection of subjects, while establishing a context for all subjects through the interdisciplinary subject, the Science of Creative Intelligence (SCI).

Most of our students attend college or university directly after graduating. Click for a list of the colleges and universities that have accepted graduates of Maharishi School.
