Destination ImagiNationTM Achievements

  • Maharishi School winners at Destination ImagiNationTM Global Finals

  • Firsts in creativity competition
All 15 Destination ImagiNation entries from Maharishi School were chosen to go on from the regional to the state competition. The last time that all Maharishi School's teams went on to state was in 1994, when they fielded just seven teams. At Maharishi School any student can join a Destination ImagiNation team, work with a focus, and display their creativity. "To have this many students go on to state competition shows how remarkable these students are," said Destination ImagiNation coach Mark Headlee. Our teams usually do well, commented Destination ImagiNation coach Mark Headlee. We always send some teams to the state level and some often go on to World competition. But this is history in the making, said Headlee.

The last time that 100% of Maharishi School's teams went on to state was in 1994 when they only had seven teams. Most schools use the Destination ImagiNation program for their gifted and talented▓ students. At Maharishi School, we let anyone join who wants to be on a team, work with focus, and display their creativity, said Headlee." To have this many students go on to state competition shows how remarkable these students are. All of the students in this program really love it, we get lots of support from parents, and of course the Transcendental Meditation program enlivens all of the students╣ inner creative genius, commented Headlee. The Destination ImagiNation World finals will May 23 through the 27th in Knoxville, TN.
