Maharishi School defeats Pekin 73-50
The Pioneers finished the season on a strong note as they won 6 of their
last seven games. The pioneers are playing the best basketball of the
season and are optimistic going into the districts which begins Monday.
(vs. North English at IMS).
Against Pekin Maharishi School came out firing on all cylinders and pulled
ahead early and kept at least a 15 point margin between them and their
division rivals. Carlisle and Mullenneaux were especially accurate, looking
very relaxed as they both seemed to score at will. The pioneers looked
organized and focused on both defense and offense and this made for a
fun game to watch if you were a pioneer fan. Most of the starters were
on the bench by the 4th quarter and next years team were able to get some
solid playing time. They too held their own as the pioneers can now look
to the play-offs.
Clearly the pioneers are playing a different quality of basketball than
they did at the beginning of the year which of course is the goal when
the season begins. So we wish the team good luck in the districts.
