Maharishi School defeats Cardinal 61-45

Maharishi School Varsity team got back on track Tuesday with a solid win against a young and developing Cardinal team. The Pioneers played well on both ends of the court. John Armstrong had a great game on offense scoring a team high 26 points. A number of his baskets were strong and athletic moves to the hoop leaving the defenders in the lurch as John blew by them. It was only the strong 3-point shooting of the comets that kept them in the game. Noah Loin also had a good game scoring 12 points. His tough defense and rebounding was a problem for his opponents all night, and a number of put back rebounds were especially important in the win.
Coach Carter was very happy with his team's play and this game coupled with the team's good play in the close loss to Danville a few days before gives Carter a sense that the Pioneers are beginning to jell as they move into the last third of the season.
The Pioneers big center Woody Orne was out with the flu but is expected back for next game which is Friday at Waco.
