Maharishi School Girls' Basketball Team (8-5) (4-3) defeated Danville 40
- 37 in a Saturday night contest following tough games for both teams the night
before. In a tightly called game with 23 fouls called on the Pioneers,
their defense kept them in the game until a 4th quarter run. The Senior
led Pioneers made key free throws (Taylor Ross went 3-4) and forced 2
turnovers in the final minute for the victory. Coach Higgins praised the
team on maintaining their poise to secure the win!
Taylor Ross lead the scoring with 16, including 8 out of 10 at the line.
Grace Boyle & Anna Tarnoff continue their hot shooting scoring 7 each.
Amellia Schuldt was back in form going 2 for 3 on three point shots. The
Pioneers grabbed 21 rebounds with Divindy Grant pulling down 6 and both
Schuldt and Sofia Iwobi with 5 each. The Pioneer defense also stepped in
for 15 steals lead by Ross's 7.
Pioneers return to conference play at home against Cardinal on Tuesday.
The girls will play at 6:30 with the Varsity boys at 8:oo pm.
