Maharishi School Girls' Basketball Team (3-1) lost thier first game of
the year at Aquinas 56-46. The Pioneers got off to a slow start trailing 14
to 5 after the first quarter. The second quarter the Pioneers poured in
19 points, while holding Aquinas to just 7 points, to give Maharishi School
a 24-21 half time lead. The difference in the game came in the 3rd quarter
when Aquinas out scored the Pioneers 22 to 10 on balance scoring.

Taylor Ross (15 pts) and Ami Freeberg (13 pts.) finished in double
figures. The team almost reached their assist goal with Ross leading with 5
and Anna Tarnoff had 3. Divindy Grant pulled in 7 of the teams 23 rebounds
and Grace Boyle lead with 3 of the teams 12 steals. For the game, the
pioneers shot 45% and were 66% from the 3 point range.

Notes: The Pioneers had Sofia Iwobi and Amellia Schuldt two of their regular starters come out in their team uniforms to warm up during the pre-game.. Both are still a few games away from full recovery from their injuries. However it did give Aquinas something to think about before they realized that they were not going to play.

The Pioneers showed some brilliant play during the game and the team as a whole is making great progress.
