| No. 6 Maharishi School busts out in second half to rout Panthers
PACKWOOD -- Sofia Iwobi scored 31 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and had 12 steals -- her third triple-double is as many games -- as sixth-ranked (1A) Maharishi School rolled past Pekin 57-28 in an SEISC West Division game Tuesday in Packwood.
Ami Freeberg and Delaney Narducci chipped in with six points apiece for the Pioneers (3-0, 3-0 West), while Sheila Higgins and Dorothy Kern scored five each. Nofia Denbaum added four points in the win.
Kayla Northup scored eight points and had three steals for Pekin (1-2, 1-1 West). Paige Atwood added five points and three rebounds.
The game was low-scoring early, with the Pioneers leading just 20-13 at halftime. However, Maharishi School used a 13-2 run in the final five minutes of the third quarter to grab a 23-point lead. The Pioneers dominated the fourth quarter as well,
and outscored Pekin 47-15 in the second half.
