Cardinal, 50 to 45
|The varsity girls basketball team improved their record
to 2 and 1 with some 4th quarter heroics. The Pioneers played solid
basketball the entire game but were in foul trouble early. The fouls for
the game were 24 for the pioneers while cardinal had only 8 called.
Pioneers pulled off to an early lead and remained in charge for most of
the game. They were ahead 12 to 7 after one quarter, 28 to 21 at the half,
however due to the fouls ,two starters Schuldt and Boyle, fouled out and

some aggressive play. The score was still tied with 3 minutes to go when
the Pioneers took over with some timely shooting and great ball handling.
Taylor Ross scored on a great drive and then hit a two pointer from the
top of the key to give the Pioneers a 6 point lead and ice the game.
Taylor had 14 points and Jodi Dey with another solid performance had 12.
Both Diviny Grant and Anna Shook coming in for the two starters played
mistake free defense and added 2 and 4 points respectively. Anna Tarnoff
also contributed with 6 points and some outstanding ball handling at the
end of the game. Amellia Schuldt had 8 points in the first half but was
