Lower School Media Center

The Lower School Library has over 10,000 books for student use including encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauruses, almanacs, biographies, fiction and non-fiction, picture books and story collections. They are organized according to the Dewey Decimal system, and can be searched with our computer catalog. There are three computers for student use in the Media Center.

Policies:

Kindergarten students can check out 1 book at a time. Grades 1-6 can check out 2 books at a time. The due date is stamped in the back of the book.

Overdue fines of 5 cents/day will be charged for books returned late. Fines arenít charged for days school is closed. If students owe more than 50 cents in fines, or have an overdue book not returned, they will not be able to check out books until they clear their account. If a book is lost, please call the Media Center and let us know. We want students to be able to check out books, and will do everything we can to help.

If a book is lost or seriously damaged, it is the responsibility of the studentís family to pay for a replacement. Please call the Media Center for instructions. If a book is found after a replacement has been paid for, the difference between the cost of the book and the overdue fine on the book will be refunded.

The Middle/Upper School Library is located on the upper floor of the Media Center. It has over 7,000 books for student use. The books are organized according to the Library of Congress system on our computerized catalog. There are two computers for student use in the library.

Policies:

The due date is stamped in the back of the book. Books are checked out for 2 weeks, but may be checked out longer for more extensive school projects. Students may renew books in person, by phone, or by email.

Books may be returned to either the Middle or Upper School office as well as the library.

Overdue fines of 10 cents per school day will be charged for books returned late. There is a maximum fine of $4.00 per book. If a student owes more than 50 cents in fines, or has an overdue book, they will not be able to check out books until they clear their account. If a book is lost, please call the Media Center and let us know. We want students to be able to check out books, and will do everything we can to help. All overdue books must be returned and all fines must be paid at the end of each quarter.

Care should be taken to return a book in good condition. If a book is lost or seriously damaged, it is the responsibility of the student to pay for a partial or full replacement. Please call the Media Center for instructions. If a book is found after a replacement has been paid for, the difference between the cost of the book and the overdue fine on the book will be refunded when possible.
