Maharishi School Seniors Exceed State and National ACT Averages

Maharishi School’s class of 2011 seniors averaged 27.9 on the 2011 ACT test. The small graduating class of twenty students scored 5.6 points above the state average of 22.3, and 6.8 points above the national average of 21.1. The ACT test calculates readiness for college within four main categories: Math, English, Reading, and Science. Maharishi School seniors scores were as follows: Math - 26.8 (national average is 21.1); English - 29.3 (national average is 20.6), Reading- 28.8 (national average is 21.3), and Science - 26.0 (versus 20.9 national average).

Throughout its history, 95% of Maharishi School graduates have attended top colleges and universities. This year’s graduates are attending Haverford College, Pennsylvania; George Washington University, Washington, DC; Georgetown University, Washington, DC; DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois; Roger Williams College, Providence, Rhode Island; UC Berkeley, California; Chapman University, California; Iowa State University, University of Iowa, and Maharishi University of Management. Atreya Dey received a Quest bridge Scholarship at Haverford College, Raph Burne received many scholarships at George Washington University, based on his science fair awards,  and Coco Clark, who is attending Georgetown University,  was a National Merit finalist.
