“From our experience of meditation we know that pure creative intelligence is unmanifest in its nature: when all mental activity comes to a stop, pure intelligence is experienced. What results from this experience is that in our awareness and in Nature, qualities of creative intelligence grow. These characteristics are the manifest value of creative intelligence, which we experience in meditation as unmanifest.” —Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

The 11th grade boys presented their wonderful production of the Ramayana at an all-school assembly this week. If you have not yet seen it, watch for publicity about their upcoming performance in the MUM student union in the coming weeks. This is not to be missed!

The Varsity boys are now on a four-game winning streak with victories over Van Buren and Central Lee this week. Friday night they have a tough home game against Burlington Notre Dame and can do with your support. On Monday, the boys will host a first round of the South East Iowa Superconference tournament. They will play Highland at 7:30 p.m.

After a win over New London on Thursday night, the Pioneer girls have an important match on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. against last year’s state qualifier, Highland. We are hosting this game, so come support the Pioneers.

The girls’ track season starts this week. The boys’ season will start a little later. All girls interested in going out for track will start practice this week.

The PE teachers have noticed that students are often hungry by PE time. They would like to suggest that you send a healthy snack to eat before PE starts. The teachers are also concerned that students often don’t drink enough water during PE. Bottles of water are available for sale in both school offices, and both schools have reverse osmosis spigots where water bottles can be filled for free.

Change in School Calendar: The Upper School Parent Night, originally scheduled for Wednesday, April 12th, has been moved to Thursday, March 30th at 7:45 p.m.
Senior Graduation orders: If your child has not turned in his/her order, please be sure that it is turned in by Monday, February 6th.

Best Wishes,
Laurie Baumann and Alan Colby
