With his life’s work complete, His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi “is welcomed with open arms into Heaven.”

Maharishi offers his farewell message: “Live long the world in peace, happiness, prosperity, and freedom from suffering.”

His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the illustrious sage of the Vedic Tradition of India, who over 50 years ago introduced his Transcendental Meditation program to spiritually regenerate mankind and create world peace, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 5, at approximately 7:00 pm (CET) at his international headquarters in Vlodrop, The Netherlands.

Maharishi’s work is complete. He has done what he set out to do in 1957—to lay the foundation for a peaceful world. Now, Maharishi is being welcomed with open arms into Heaven,” said Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam, first ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, Maharishi’s global educational organization.

Three weeks ago, on January 11, Maharishi publicly announced that he would be “retiring into silence,” and said he was “closing his designed duty” to his spiritual master, Guru Dev. “I can only say, ‘Live long the world in peace, happiness, prosperity, and freedom from suffering.’”

He then placed the administration of his global movement under the “capable leadership” of Maharaj Rajaraam, world-renowned neuroscientist, and his 48 international Ministers and Rajas (administrators)—along with thousands of teachers of the Transcendental Meditation program and directors of his movement throughout the world.

Maharishi’s decision to retire was inspired by news that more than enough experts have now been trained in his peace-creating technologies of consciousness to raise any nation to invincibility and secure peace and prosperity for the world – and that his global organization is now in place to maintain this peace permanently.

Our dear Dr. Ashley Deans has been in Vlodrop for the past several weeks. Even though his travels have taken him around the world, his heart is always with our students. Below is a message that we received yesterday that he wanted to share with our students. The principals read this message to the students and spent time talking with them about Maharishi and the great school he has created for us all. Below is Dr. Deans’ message:

Please tell them that I am thinking of them all and that Maharishi was so proud of them in every way. He delighted in hearing of their achievements and they all had a very special place in his heart as the pioneering students of His Consciousness-Based education. The enlightened administration through silence that Maharishi has set up to administer Heaven on Earth—Global Raam Raj—under the enlightened leadership of Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam, is remarkable in its brilliance, strength, dedication, and organizing power, and as Maharishi said in his last few days, “the future of the world is bright—and that is my delight.”

This past Friday, we began the day with two assemblies honoring Maharishi; one for the Girls at 9:45 am, and one for the Boys at 10:45 am. During the assemblies, the teachers performed the traditional ceremony of gratitude. We watched a short excerpt of Thursday’s celebration at the Global Capital and also a sweet tape from 1991 of Maharishi speaking to our students about their performance of Veda Lila.

The 5th/6th grade Girls class made a beautiful lei which is now adorning a photo of Maharishi at the Assembly Hall entrance to the School. For the next several days, students are welcome to bring flowers and pay tribute to our beloved Maharishi.

The Varsity Girls won their first round of the District Tournament. The Pioneers won 48-47. With one minute left, the score was tied 46 apiece. Cardinal went ahead 47-46 when one of their players was fouled and made one of her two free throws. Then the Pioneers came down the court with less than half a minute to go and got the ball to Bonnie Carter who was subsequently fouled when she drove to the basket with 5.5 seconds remaining. Bonnie calmly made both free throws, sealing the 48-47 win.

The Pioneers will play Holy Trinity for the District Final on Tuesday, February 12 at Holy Trinity, vs Holy Trinity. Game time is 7:00 pm.

The boys will start their playoffs with their first district game at Cardinal on Monday, February 11, at 7:00 pm.
