Career Day

Exploring Life After High School

Maharishi Upper School hosts a Career Day one afternoon each month. Upper School students hear from successful professionals about their education, career path, and advice. What does it take to achieve one's dreams? How do successful career paths differ and what do they have in common? This is a rare window into the world that awaits our students, with time for reflection and dialogue.

But Career Day is even more. It's a time to grow in maturity. Students can improve their listening and note-taking skills. They can learn the etiquette of relating to adults: asking relevant questions, making eye contact and sitting attentively. They may discover the value of networking, of following an interest as it grows and deepens. And, importantly, they can learn not to stereotype a person or occupation.
